What are the items covered under identity documents?
Identity documents refer to your identity card, passport, immigration permit, employment pass, birth certificate, driver’s license and other documents of identity belonging to you and duly issued by the governmental authorities of Singapore.
 
If my credit card gets stolen resulting in the fraudulent use of my card, will I be compensated for the incurred losses?
Homes Complete will compensate you and your family for the illegal and unauthorised use of a payment card by any person. This includes the illegal or unauthorised financial transactions made falsely and dishonestly with your name through identity fraud.
 
Can I pay additional premium to increase the sum insured?
For annual coverage, monthly GIRO or credit card is available at $13 a month. For three-year coverage, you can also choose to pay via interest-free instalment plan at $39 a month or a lump sum payment of $445 via credit card or cheque.

Would I have to pay additional premium if I move from a 4-room flat to a condominium?
No. Homes Complete is a packaged plan and the premium across the different types of dwelling is at the same rate.
 
If I move house during my policy period, what happens to my policy?
If you are moving to another dwelling type, you may inform us in writing to change the risk location and we will amend your address in the policy schedule.
 
How do I file a claim?
Simply call our hotline at 6419 3000 and our customer service officer will attend to you. If necessary, a loss adjustor will be appointed to assess the damages/claims.

What does Homes Advantage cover?
Homes Advantage is a comprehensive home insurance plan that offers you the flexibility to customise your covers to achieve your desired protection.

These include coverage for Building, Contents, Alternative Accommodation, Personal Liability, Personal Effects, Domestic Servants, Identity Fraud and Multi-Appliances Extended Warranty.
 
How do I know how much to insure my property?
As a general guideline for building cover, our basis of settlement is the cost of reinstatement of the building destroyed or damaged. The sum insured should at all times be maintained at not less than the full cost of replacement without depreciation value for wear and tear.
 
What are the consequences of under-insurance?
At the time of loss, if the sum insured is lower than 90% of the cost of re-instatement or replacement, the amount payable for such claim shall be proportionately reduced.
 
Are my personal belongings covered overseas?
Yes. Personal effects are covered worldwide. Hence, we will cover your personal belongings that are physically carried on or worn by you at the time of loss or damage, even when you are overseas. However, this excludes cash or its equivalent and any personal belongings or contents at your residence.
 
Can I choose to insure my personal effects on a standalone basis?
Cover for enhanced PLUS+ coverage such as personal effects can only be extended when you insure either your building or contents. However, it is not insurable on a standalone basis.
 
Must I itemise my home content that is worth $5,000? What documents must I submit?
Under contents, items that are less than $10,000 need not be itemised. However, should your item exceed $10,000, you will need to provide us with a scheduled inventory list indicating the valuables you would like coverage for. However, in the event of a claim, you need to provide proof of ownership, receipt and a valuation report.
 
Under Multi Appliance Extended Warranty, does AIG replace/repair the appliance?
Yes. Our repair benefits are up to a maximum of $2,000 during any one policy period. Repairs are undertaken by our appointed repairer should your kitchen or home product be damaged due to mechanical or electrical failure.

Please note that the policy coverage warrants appliances between 1-5 years from the first purchase date and the appliances should no longer be covered under manufacturer’s warranty or any other warranty.

Home Contents Insurance - Homes Advantage Package
 
What are the insured perils covered under contents in Homes Advantage Package plan?
Contents coverage in Homes Advantage Package plan is an all risks cover, which protects you and your family against all perils, subject to policy terms and conditions.
 
Do I need to itemise my home contents that I want to insure?
The home contents benefit under the Homes Advantage Package plan provides high limits of coverage of up to $10,000 per item and the items need not be itemised.
 
If I want to insure my painting that is worth more than $10,000, can I do so under Homes Advantage Package plan?
Homes Advantage Package plan only provides coverage for individual items up to $10,000 each. If you wish to insure your works of art or valuables that are worth more than $10,000, the maximum claims amount is $10,000 per item. For higher coverage, you may wish to consider the Homes Advantage plan instead which allows you to schedule items exceeding $10,000 each.
 
Are my personal effects covered overseas?
Yes. You and your family’s personal effects are covered worldwide. These include your personal belongings that are physically carried on or worn by you at the time of loss or damage, even when you are overseas.
 
Under Multi Appliance Extended Warranty, do you replace/repair the appliance? What if the parts are no longer available?
Yes. Our repair benefits are up to a maximum of $2,000 during any one policy period. Repairs are undertaken by our appointed repairer should your kitchen or home product be damaged due to mechanical or electrical failure.

Should the parts required for repairs be no longer available, we will pay you cash equivalent to the estimated repair cost. Such cash payment shall not exceed $300.
 
Will I be penalised for under-insurance?
No. Homes Advantage Package plan is a first loss policy and you need not worry about being penalised for under-insurance.
